About Swaper
What it is
Swaper is an Estonian platform, running since 2016, that sells investors claims on short consumer loans, plus a few business loans and vehicle leases. It is run by Swaper Platform OÜ in Tallinn and holds no financial licence. Almost all the loans come from one related lending group, the Latvian Wandoo Finance group (Poland, Romania, Spain and Peru), and from SW Finance, a lending company Swaper owns itself.
The platform shows €1.14 billion of loan claims sold to investors since 2016 and €21.2 million of interest paid (30 September 2026). New lending fell steeply in 2026: monthly funding dropped from €24.3 million in August 2025 to €1.3 million in June 2026, then recovered to €9.4 million in September 2026. The platform has published no explanation.
How it works
You buy claims on loans that the lending companies have already paid out, from €10, mostly through auto-invest. Every claim of a kind pays the same flat rate set by the platform: 10% a year on short consumer loans since 14 November 2025 (12% for loyalty members), after cuts from 14% during 2025. Business loans of 24 months pay up to 16% for loyalty members with €25,000 or more on the platform. You can invest in euros or pounds.
In September 2026 the money on the platform was split between Wandoo's European lenders (37.9%), Wandoo Peru (31.6%) and Swaper's own SW Finance (30.4%); a small North Macedonian leasing firm had a handful of contracts.
Returns
The statistics page shows an "average annual return" of 14.0% for September 2026, almost unchanged from 14.2% in December 2024 and 13.8% in December 2025. The platform does not say how this figure is worked out, and it did not fall when the standard rate on short consumer loans was cut from 14% to 10% in 2025. New money on the main product earns 10% to 12% a year, less any cash that sits uninvested.
Independent tracking of investor portfolios points to about 13.2% a year (August 2026), which mostly reflects the higher rates paid before the cuts.
Losses and defaults
Investors have not lost money so far, because the lending company buys back any loan that is 60 days late, with interest. For that reason the statistics show no loans more than 60 days late. Swaper publishes no default rate, no default definition and no recovery rate.
Underneath, the loans are getting worse. The Wandoo group reports that 11.4% of its portfolio was unrecoverable in the second quarter of 2026, up from 9.3% in the third quarter of 2023 and 10.0% at the end of 2024. At 30 June 2026, 22% of the group's loans were 1 to 60 days late. On the platform in September 2026, 41.2% of Wandoo Peru's loans (by number) were late, 16.5% of them 31 to 60 days. Wandoo's European lenders and SW Finance show all their loans as current, which the platform does not explain. These losses reach you only if the buyback fails.
What secures your money
Nothing secures the loans: they are unsecured consumer loans. Your protection is the issuing lender's promise to buy a loan back at 60 days late, for its principal and accrued interest. So the credit you really take is that of the Wandoo Finance group and of SW Finance, Swaper's own lending subsidiary with €2,500 of share capital, not the borrowers'.
The Wandoo group publishes audited accounts. At the end of 2025 it had €11.0 million of its own capital, about 17% of its assets, and had set aside €12.6 million for bad loans, 29.4% of its €42.9 million of loans (26.8% a year earlier). Loans that stay unpaid after buyback are sold to debt collectors; no recovery rate is published. There is no reserve fund, no insurance and no compensation scheme. In plain words: you have been paid so far because the group kept buying back late loans; if it could not, there is no security behind your claims.
Who runs it and its licence
Swaper Platform OÜ (Estonia, registry code 14726410, €100,000 share capital) runs the platform and owns SW Finance OÜ. Its sole owner is also a board member and part-owner of a company that holds 13.81% of Wandoo Finance, the parent of the main lending group. The platform does not mention this link on its site. A new chief executive took over in March 2026.
Swaper holds no licence from any financial regulator and is not authorised under the EU crowdfunding rules, so no investor compensation scheme applies. SW Finance holds an activity licence from Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit (FFA000468), which covers anti-money-laundering rules, not the protection of investors.
Fees
Swaper charges investors no fees: registering, paying in, investing, selling on the secondary market and withdrawing are free. The platform earns its income from the lending group whose loans it sells. Money waiting uninvested earns nothing.
Getting your money out
Most consumer loans run for about a month, so the simplest way out is to switch off auto-invest and let the loans be repaid or bought back. You can also sell claims to other investors at no fee, but there are few buyers. Withdrawals are by bank transfer in euros or pounds at no fee. The platform does not name the bank or payment firm that holds investors' cash or say how it is kept apart from its own money.
Our view
Return: Very High — the platform shows an average of 14.0% a year (September 2026), though it does not define the figure and new money on the main product earns 10% to 12%. Risk: Very High (higher means more risk) — the lending group behind the loans reports that 11.4% of its portfolio was unrecoverable in mid-2026 and rising, the platform is unlicensed, and almost everything rests on one related group and Swaper's own subsidiary. Risk-return: Low — the return is high, but not enough for a risk that sits on one group's buyback.
Regulation
License / Regulation: No licence. Swaper Platform OÜ (Estonia, registry code 14726410) is not authorised by Estonia's Financial Supervision Authority or under the EU crowdfunding regulation, and no investor compensation scheme applies. Its subsidiary SW Finance OÜ, which also lends on the platform, holds an activity licence from Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit (FFA000468); this covers anti-money-laundering rules, not investor protection.

Useful Information
No. Swaper Platform OÜ holds no licence from any financial regulator and is not authorised under the EU crowdfunding rules, so no investor compensation scheme applies. Its lending subsidiary SW Finance holds an anti-money-laundering activity licence from Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit, which does not protect investors.
The platform does not say. Payments are by bank transfer in euros or pounds, but no bank or payment firm is named and there is no published statement that uninvested cash is kept apart from the company's money. Once invested, your money is in claims on loans made by the Wandoo group or SW Finance.

Yes. You can sell claims to other investors at no fee, though buyers are few. Most consumer loans run for about a month, so switching off auto-invest turns a portfolio back into cash fairly quickly. Withdrawals by bank transfer are free.
None. Registering, paying in, investing, selling on the secondary market and withdrawing are free. The platform earns from the lending group. Uninvested cash earns nothing.
If a Wandoo company or SW Finance cannot buy back its late loans, you are left with claims on unsecured borrowers and no guarantee or compensation scheme covers the loss. If Swaper itself failed, there is no regulator overseeing how investors' claims and cash would be handled.
