Useful Information

What is Miimosa?

MiiMOSA, launched in late 2014, stands as the first crowdfunding platform exclusively dedicated to financing projects in agriculture and sustainable food production. Going beyond traditional finance, MiiMOSA serves as a hub for exchange, sharing, and solidarity between a community of contributors and project leaders in the agriculture and food sectors. Initially supporting projects based on a "reward-based" donation model, MiiMOSA expanded its offerings in early 2018 by introducing "crowdlending" or participatory loans. This evolution aims to direct popular savings toward agricultural and food projects.

How does MiiMOSA work?

MiiMOSA operates as a space where citizens and businesses can financially support sustainable agriculture and food projects through either donations with corresponding rewards or lucrative loans. Donors can contribute to projects they believe in, and in return, they receive unique rewards or experiences. Investors, on the other hand, can place their savings in projects based on thematic preferences, impact assessment, and expected returns, earning up to 10% in annual interest. MiiMOSA's mission is to reestablish a connection between the agricultural world and society, fostering engagement at all levels to contribute to agroecological transition.

Who can start a project?

MiiMOSA supports a diverse range of agricultural and food projects initiated by individuals or companies headquartered in France or Belgium. These projects should contribute to climate, environmental, societal, and/or economic transition. Potential project initiators encompass various actors, including individuals, farmers, companies, cooperatives, associations, syndicates, agricultural chambers, local authorities, event organizers, startups, and more. To launch a project, the project initiator must be over 18 years old, have the project approved by the MiiMOSA team, and demonstrate determination and belief in the project's success.

What is MiiMOSA’s commission?

MiiMOSA charges commissions based on the type of project financing. For donations with corresponding rewards or pre-sales, the commission is a maximum of 15% excluding taxes of the total amount collected. For credit-based financing (remunerated loans and bonds), the commission is a maximum of 10% excluding taxes of the total loan amount. Additionally, a maximum of 3% annual fee on the remaining amount due may be charged for the management of financial flows. In case of loan repayment delay, MiiMOSA can apply penalties and interest on the unpaid installment, ensuring transparency in financial transactions. It's important to note that these commissions cover transaction-related costs. If the project doesn't reach its predefined success threshold, contributors are refunded without additional charges except for potential agreed-upon dossier or communication fees.
