Robo.cash is a fully automated investment platform launched in February 2017. Today, it is open for investors throughout the European Union, UK and Switzerland.
The platform is an integral part of the financial holding UnaFinancial, which is headquartered in Singapore. Apart from Robo.cash, the holding comprises fintech companies in Europe and Asia. The platform offers to invest in short-term and long-term loans issued by its affiliated lenders with a full buyback guarantee.
Robo.cash offers to invest in consumer loans issued by affiliated loan originators from the UnaFinancial group. In UnaFinancial group are 4 companies that provide microfinance services - LLC PRESTAMER from Spain, RC RIGA from Kazakhstan, Rapidlend from Sri Lanka, and Digido.ph from Philippines.
Robo.cash operates as a so-called peer-to-peer marketplace, meaning you are not providing loans, but you invest in already issued loans by some microfinance companies also called loan originators.
Given that all loan originators are offering a buyback guarantee (promise to buy back loan from you in case it becomes overdue) it would be fair to say that investors are basically providing loans to loan originators that are secured with claim rights towards end borrowers.
When investing on Robo.cash you basically provide a loan to a loan originator so you have to evaluate its financial strength and portfolio quality which is a challenging task.
Robo.cash also provides a so-called group guarantee which means that if the loan originator fails to pay group companies will have to cover its obligations, which definitely provides additional security.
Robo.cash works only with affiliated companies which creates a potential transparency risk.,
