Debitum - Risk and return review

Risk level i
High
Despite 0% historical default, (are in restructuring - which actually could be considered is default), we consider the risk as high due to an unclear funding purpose - funds are raised in many tranches with no clear purpose of each tranche, and the financial standing of the Loan originators is weak; many companies are 1 or 2 years old with no or little equity. Given that the key risk is a Loan originator's ability to cover buy-back obligations, before investing, investors need to carefully explore each loan originator and their financial situation. If the risk is not clear, do not invest. Shady history with ICO, where many investors lost a large amount of funds.
Return level i
High
Return level is considered high, reaching up to15%.
Risk Return Level i
Medium
Past performance is quite good, with no investor losses and good returns, yet the Loan originator's ability to cover buy-back obligation is not clear, and each tranche funding is not clear as well.

How does Debitum Investments work?

Debitum Investments operates as a so-called peer-to-peer marketplace, meaning you are not providing loans, but you invest in already issued loans by some microfinance companies also called loan originators.

Given that all loan originators are offering a buyback guarantee (promise to buy back loan from you in case it becomes overdue) it would be fair to say that investors are basically providing loans to loan originators that are secured with claim rights towards end borrowers.

What investments does Debitum Investments offer?

Debitum offers to invest in loans issued to business customers by 5 Loanoriginators: Evergreen Capital is a non-bank finance provider to the Estonian small business sector. FLEXIDEA is an up-to-date invoice financing solution – the only fully online service provider in the Baltic States. FLEXIDEA POLSKA is digital invoice financing platform in Poland. Sandbox Funding is a secured non-bank lender for small and medium (SMEs) businesses in Europe. Triple Dragon Limited is a London-based specialist financing company for the mobile games and apps industry.

What is a risk when investing on Debitum Investments?

When investing on Debitum you basically provide a loan to a loan originator so you have to evaluate its financial strength and portfolio quality which is not an easy task.

Debitum works only with loan originators that issue business loans and a majority of such loans are secured with tangible assets thus if the loan originator fails to pay under a buyback guarantee there are chance to receive part of the money from collateral sale.
