About Mintos
Mintos is one of Europe’s largest online investment marketplaces, letting investors earn income by buying fractions of loans issued by a diversified set of lending companies across multiple countries and loan types.
It offers access to consumer loans, business loans, car and mortgage loans, and more, with a low minimum investment (often from about €50). Investors can use auto-invest or manual selection, and also trade existing investments on a secondary market to help manage liquidity.
Mintos provides a risk scoring system to help evaluate loan originators and diversify across geographies, sectors, and risk profiles. Historical performance across the diversified loan portfolio has shown attractive net returns in the high single digits or low double digits, though past performance isn’t a guarantee of future results.
The platform isn’t a bank, so capital and returns are not guaranteed, and investors bear the credit risk of the underlying loans and originators.
Overall, Mintos appeals to investors seeking higher-yield, diversified fixed-income alternatives with tools for both passive and hands-on strategies.

Useful Information
Mintos operates as a so-called peer-to-peer marketplace, meaning you are not providing loans but you invest in already issued loans by some microfinance companies also called loan originators.
Given that all loan originators are offering a buyback guarantee (promise to buy back loan from you in case it becomes overdue) it would be fair to say that investors are basically providing loans to loan originators that are secured with claim rights towards end borrowers.
In addition to loan investments, Mintos is offering to invest in ETFs and Bonds.
When investing on Mintos you basically provide a loan to the Loan originator thus your main risk is that the Loan origination will not be able to fulfill its obligations.
It should be mentioned that many of Loan originators are affiliated with Mintos which might create additional transparency risks.
Mintos is the biggest platform in peer to peer-to-peer loan marketplace segment offering investments in a wide variety of products - Agricultural loans, Business loans, car loans, car rental, invoice financing, mortgage, and consumer loans. Loans are issued in 40+ countries by 44 microfinance companies.
